Today was the last day in the cottage. Most of the morning was spent rummaging around for lost socks and packing the cases for the journey to the Reykjavik and the Blue Lagoon.
Based on the traveling time and the time we’d booked into the Blue Lagoon for we had about 3 usable hours in the city centre. This gave us just enough time see a couple of the main sites including the cathedral, viking boat and most importantly of all nip into a few souvenir shops.
The cathedral was a bit wasted on me. Saying I’m not religious would be a massive understatement. I can appreciate churches for their architecture and grandness not for anything else. It was a bit strange for me to see people sat in the pews heads bowed and praying. Lets get off the topic of religion quickly.
I was afraid the Blue Lagoon wouldn’t live up to my expectations I’m glad to say that it surpassed my wildest dreams the water was lovely so relaxing and soothing especially after all the falls and twisted ankles I suffered by slipping on Ice
The two most surreal experience of the day were experiencing snow whilst in a very warm bath and by far the best being able to drink a pint of beer resting at the side of the lagoon
it was at this point the reality set in that we would be leaving this amazing place in the morning queue a night of no sleep sat in the hotel reception writing these blogs and working on some video projects Ill leave you with one last video of the take off from the airport.
